If you’d like to try to settle your insurance claim without paying a lawyer, you certainly can do that. Also, you’ll notice that you have a different adjuster, probably, if you do it yourself. If you have an attorney representing you, the insurance company will usually assign a separate adjuster who’s used to dealing with an attorney. The reason for that is: the attorney has done this over and over and has trained and knows the law.
If you’re going to do it yourself, the thing that you need to do is put together the documents which will show the extent of your injuries. Also, provide information about the accident, because you must prove that it’s not your fault. Once those documents are provided, then the adjuster should examine those documents, look at the case and then make you a settlement offer.
